01 JULY 2010
30/30 Project
30 Schools • 30 Peaks • 900 Young People • Unlimited Learning
We’re all about Inspiring Young People. We’ve worked in more than 300 schools to date, taking stories
and lessons learnt on the World’s highest mountains, to inspire students in the U.K.
We show the importance of having a dream, and that it is achievable if the goal is approached with the
right attitude and skill set. We believe peer pressure can be positive, and young people have the power
to inspire each other, our ethos is all about Peer to Peer Motivation.
In July 2011 Youth Unlimited is organising The 30/30 Project, a unique event, showcasing the power
of youth, enriching individuals, schools and communities, and providing a great adventure.
The event will take place over one weekend during late Summer Term 2011.
The 30/30 Project in a nutshell:
30 schools
30 Year 9 pupils from each school
30 peaks in the U.K, all over 3000ft high
Each group of 30 will be a mix from 15 different schools, (15 pairs of young people).
Each group of 30 will climb 1 mountain.
Participants will fundraise for their places, part of the funds will cover cost, they must also raise money
for one cause that benefits their community. Raising money locally will also promote social and
community cohesion, and add value to the wider population the school can ordinarily reach.
The other condition of taking part is that the young people must give a presentation to their year
group or school, to talk about the project and the lessons learnt.
We need the support of 30 visionary headteachers from across the U.K, who can identify the benefits
of participating in the programme to their pupils, and their local community.
A Letter of Interest can be downloaded by clicking here or the link below, please fill this in and return to us, ideally before the end of term.
At the start of the next academic year we will contact you to give details of the Teachers Weekend,
when we will invite all interested parties to hear the finer details and we will then select the 30 schools.
More details coming soon.
Please contact us if you would like any further information.
